Columbus Castings benefits from Amtrak Railcar Project
American casting firms have had a tough time surviving. Good for CC.
Glad to see the to bring more American manufacturing into the passenger rail car business.
Mr. Obama, instead of always visiting auto manufacturing plants and crowing how his administration rescued the auto industry, ought to visit and celabrate firms like Columbus Castings.
But a president who proclaims his vision for a resurgence of a rebuilding American transportation infrastructure at the site of the transit-less new Tappan Zee/I-87 Bridge instead of visiting CREATE projects either completed or under construction in his home town, is not going to celebrate what builds passenger and freight rail.
But he ran on a platform, back in 2008, of re-balancing our ground transportation priorities. All in the rail community took that as evidence he would make good faith efforts to boost intercity passenger and urban transit back into the mainstream. So, to quote Sarah of Alaska, “How’s that hopey, changey thing workin’ out for ya’, huh?”.
Great to see the old Buckeye Casting reborn with a new name.
This firm supplied large casting to the old Lima Locomotive
plant for many years and made significant contributions
during WWII. Please to see those nice employment figures.
