Okay everybody the 746 is out of the closet now and hubby built me a display shelf for it while he was home over the weekend. I’ve been to the hobby store and am armed with books, ballast, glues, grass and all sorts of fun stuff. Here goes. I can’t hurt this train can I? right now I’m cleaning everything. Alcohol on the track and gently wiping the cars with damp cottonballs/Q-tips.

Yes please post pictures… also keep an eye on the dogs. I can imagine them becoming very jealous when they see this baby start to shine up and and maybe try some staged diversion as they officially welcome it to the neighborhood. Don’t fall for it. That is the oldest dog versus train trick around…[:D]

Our Lab/Shephard thinks the 1666 is a rabbit… The train is up on a table, but the dog doesn’t seem to find this much of a deterrant.

As long as nothing comes between the dogs and squirrel chases life is good as far as they are concerned. I don’t think they’ve even noticed the train yet. Harley the macaw on the other hand keeps asking “what are you doin”

Lisa do you have dogs ? A guy here bought himself a brand new ZW with 4 180’s and set her up . Went shopping and came home and his dog chewed the handles about completely off them ! It was his wife’s dog he’s not extremely loving with anyway … the dog guys – not the wife … LOL . I think I heard him screaming and cussing clear over at my house 15 miles away ! Now he’s got 2 knarled stubs to control with … I make him turn purple everytime I see or call and ask how the puppy is ---- [:-^]
