What are the dimensions?

It’s OK, but you could do better. For instance, the industrial tracks at the top, the one with the run around is not effective. The run around should be between the two spurs, next to the main.

Pav,
Could you give us some ‘rough’ measurements, perhaps overall L & W? I need to know what kind of spaces we’re dealing with before I can give you any meaningful opinions…[:)]

It looks very similar to one of my first N-scale layouts that was 2x8 feet. Is that a good guess of the size? Are the parallel tracks in the front for use as working yard or multiple passing/holding tracks? If a yard I would think you would do better to make it a single end ladder and add a drill track so one loco could work the yard without effecting the two trains running on the mains.

Pav, for what it is worth, I like it! I do, however, agree with the feedback on The Gauge that says your lead is too short. Also, you could generate a loop so that you can turn your trains around. I am thinking, as you approach from bottom left, on the inside, that first diagonal track that goes to your yard, you could just extend it to meet its diagonal opposite. Do you see what I mean? You’d have to wire in an AR or a DPDT for polarity reverses, but…so what?

ok

thanks

Yes texas Zepher your close! The dimensions are 2x6 n scale. The parralllel tracks “ladders” are for work, holding or anything.

The ladders are just for something to do,i can arrange consists in it and other stuff like that.

Next, many of you are talking about runarounds and leads, why would i need a lead on a ladder yard. You can go straight through!

Big_Boy_4005 The runaround bit (I think its what you are talking about) is going to have a farm but im not sure what industry,i need a coal mine.

Many thanks

Pavriangoo, you might want to take a look at some examples of other plans. I’m pretty sure this plan will bore you to death very soon after its completed.

This is the section of the layout that I’m talking about. You have sidings facing opposite directions. In order to deliver cars to both you need a runaround. One siding will be easy to spot cars, but the other siding needs to have the cars on the other end of the engine. Look at the difference between A and B.
