comments on Walthers Cornerstone 120' Manual Turntable (N-scale)?

I was recently at my LHS and saw the Walthers Cornerstone 120ft Manual Turntable (cat # 933-3203) for what seems to be a decent price (about $35 CAD). I was wondering …

  1. Anyone has built and used this turntable?

  2. What problems did you have with it?

  3. What problems did you encounter when you tried to motorize it?

  4. Is it worth buying or would I be better off buying another turntable?

Any comments you have would be very welcome.

It is just the old Heljan/Con-Cor plastic peice of junk. Needs a lot of rebuilding to make it run right. Walther is going to be releasing a N scale version of their big HO turntable in the near future.
Peco has a decent 80’ turntable(manual) for about $20. It can be motorized, and BLW even sells it completely motorized(no indexing) - here is the URL:

Thanks, Jim. Do you know when it will be released? I’m not really in any huge rush since I haven’t even finished designing my layout, let alone building it. But it would be good to know the correct size and benchwork requirements while still in the designing stage.

According to their web site, it is sold out. [:(]
