Very effective, good coloring, and the benchwork looks plenty sturdy. Keep us up to date on your progress.

I just don’t know…the clouds kind’a look like the backdrop in the Beatles movie : Yellow Submarine"…or some of those old Monty Python cartoons…i guess it’s the best a guy can do with spray paint…

Beautiful!

I noticed the neat effect of painting a “shadow outline” on the bottom of the clouds. Adds a lot to the realism!

Roger that!

What type of spray paints did you use? I have a backdrop that I just painted and I am going to add some clouds next.

I will be honest and say that some of the clouds, especially some of those on the right, seem over-flat on the bottom, to me. Also, I think you might want to consider ‘misting’ them outward a bit so that they are not so ‘tight’ or cotton-bally (am I making sense?)

I have a suggestion that might take care of both issues, if you’d care to try. Try a slightly heavy wash of white, and with the brush mostly dry, see if you can puhe brush’s bristle tips at the cloud edges and get them to spread out a wee bit. Go light at first and then stand back and see if you are going to get the effect I am talking about. You may well have to thicken the wao a paint for it to work, but try and see what develops…please.

I can see you are really intent upon this, Chuck, and the quality of your work is excellent. So, I am not going to be an instrument of appeasement and tell you that those clouds are A-1. They are about a B-1 right now, and I know you will want to show the important people in your life the best you can do. I believe that you can show them that with another 30-50 minutes of brush-work. Oh, and your bench-work? Why couldn’t mine have turned out as good? [V]

Well,

I’ve down loaded the Web Shots page. Great resource for references for layout building!
