Actually, I did one time. It even was the only model I ever got paid for, so far. It was for a friend of my sister’s, whose husband is a model railroader AND a big Green Bay fan.
The assignment was to make a model of Lambeau Field. Long story short, it’s a lot easier to model part of the outside of a football stadium, than it is to model any of the inside. I think I put together a pretty good mockup. Evergreen and Plasti-struct were my friends. Paint it up green and gold and everyone was happy with the result.
Plus then he could set it up against his backdrop and model the tailgaters hanging around outside, cooking up some brats in the parking lot.
On the other hand, my GF would be more interested in the sumo ring. I don’t really care all that much about sports myself, so something like that would probably be more interesting for me to see – at least the first time – simply because it’s relatively exotic for someone from the Midwest like me.
