I just downloaded a newer sound file from ESU for a FM H10-44 and I cannot get the compressor file to work on F4, although it works in random sounds file. I am using a Lokprogrammer and have assigned several sound files to various F keys in other engines so I am a bit familiar with the process. I have assigned other sounds to this project and have checked out the CV bit settings. All seems in order but no sound is forthcoming. BTW, my other decoders are all Loksound 5 now. This is my oldest decoder presently so I am a little rusty on programming a Select. Any ideas would be appreciated.
If you don’t find anything that works here, there is a ESU group on groups.io I was a loksound fan, but V5 seems almost too complicated for me.
I have a new gevo from ST, and I have to turn the compressor off, or it dominates the sound.
Mike.
It’s the only sound that doesn’t work?
The volume slider is set properly for this sound slot?
There aren’t any qualifiers in the function definition that may be interfering?
You have it set for ‘play only if drive sound enabled’ but you haven’t started the prime mover?
I don’t know. Seems like it has to work. There aren’t that many things to stop it.
George, puzzled
Are you downloading a Select file, or a Loksound 5 file?
Loksound 5 is great, especially the added sounds. Love hearing the traction motor sound along with the prime mover. With Loprogrammer, much easier to work with than Select or v.4. Just added a retrofit from Bowser to an old VO-1000. Wow!
Select file.
I am puzzled as well. Yes, I have tried various settings and the sound is up, assigned to an F-key properly. The compressor sound does work on “random sounds,” and the engine runs well, so I plan to quit while I’m somewhat ahead. I will put this engine (re-motored Walthers H10-44) in the que for a 5.0 Loksound. Then, all my engines will have 5.0’s. Will need to “hard wire” this one though, as before. Aggh!
Which sound file is it exactly? (Numeric)
