Con-Cor HO Burlington Zephyr/DCC & Sound

Hi there,

My Con-Cor HO Burlington Zephyr has just made it over the Pond…just in time for Christmas[:)]

Reading the notes on adding a DCC module to the Zephyr there is a mention of installing a decoder with sound. Could anyone advise if there is a decoder with sound for the Zephyr already on the market? If so, could you give me the details

With many thanks in advance,

Keith

I have one on order from the batch of Zephyrs that just came in, so I am interested in the same thing. I think I might wait until the Diesel Tsunami comes out as there are not many choices for diesel sound available for purchase right now. Digitrax is months off. MRC does not seem to get very good reviews and I am not all that impressed with the older line of Soundtraxx.

from a displaced lover of Fremlins Tusker (is it still available?)

Hi Simon,

Thanks for the info…Maybe you could let me know when you locate a dcc sound decoder.

Not sure about the Fremlins Tusker, I’ll check with my brother…have to admit I’m not an English beer drinker…started my beer drinking when working in Saigon, Vietnam in 1968/69 with a British bank with Budweiser and other US beers courtesy of the black market… much prefer an ice-cold “fizzy” lager than a warm “flat” English beer…

When Con-Cor released the Burlington Zephyr, they said they would have a sound decoder to fit into it, but so far nothing has been available.

No one makes a sound decoder that would come close to the Zephyr’s engine and horn sounds.

We should swap houses! I live all of 20 miles from the home of Budweiser in St. Louis (appologies to any Czec members of the list).

Umm…I think that is “cheque.” [:o)]
