I purchased both trains (801-802 and 803-804). The trains run flawlessly on DC, I have not had a chance yet to install decoders. The detail is excellent, the models include all the roof detail and the detail between the coaches such as m.u. cables and trolley pole retrivers. This is one of the best models I have seen from Con-Cor.
Worth the wait and worth every penny! The paint and striping are phenomenal and consistent through all 4 units. It runs smooth and is extremely quiet regardless of speed or track radius. The interior is well lit and ready to accept passengers in seats and the tables in the tavern-lounge. All we need now is sound.
Kudos to Con-Cor for bringing this to market.
Excellent job by Concor, paint colors, and info included. Ran on short dc loop, then installed decoder and the EXCITEMENT of watching the unit operate !! The interior lighting very good feature.

I’m old enough to remember this train as I rode it in the late 1950’s. It was a smooth running speedster with the North Shore’s ever courtious, knowledgable and pleasent crew. while I presently have no layout (just bought a new home) to run it on I am very pleased with the accurate paint job and plethora of added details. Cheers to Con-cor for this great model.
I also now own a Con-Cor 'Liner and it really runs and looks great. But, I don’t remember a red light in the head light location at the back of the train. Red markers and a small white light in the center window were displayed on the rear. Also, the photos with the review show the “center” poles in the wrong position. All 4 poles were accessed from the “A” and A-1" units. You just have to be sure to assemble the units facing correctly, And speaking of poles, I remember them being painted black. Also, great care should be used when connecting the units together. If the connectors are not aligned properly you can get a short or no lights in a unit. Like the instructions say, build the train from the powered unit back and test each coupling. Overall a nice model.
Excellent model, better than the last brass import (Beaver Creek in the mid '90’s). Now all we need is a sound decoder the bring back that uniquen North Shore whistle.

Have purchased set 801-802 and recently had the chance to see the prototype at Union Illinois and the detail and colors, great job by Concor. Operation is very smooth both dc and dcc. To run as a nite time setting on the layout the interior lighting gives an excellent sense of reality.

What about sound for this train? Will be suitable the QSI sound for the GG-1? Thanks.

I have purchased this train and find it to be outstanding. Con-Cor has done a masterful job. The painting and striping are amazing looking and the unit operates extremely smoothly. It is a liitle tricky to connect all the cars together but with a little patience it can be done. I like this model so much that I ordrered the “Libertyliner” version but it is my understanding Con-Cor might not produce it beacsue of the poor economy. I hope that they do produce it.

Wow, What an impressive train. Runs so smooth. The paint job must have been a nightmare to design the tooling for it and it looks just perfect. My only complaint is the front windows should be flat and the headlight should be larger in diameter. Overall this does not detract from the train. Good Job Con Cor!

In the HO Traction world, it does not get better than this. This may be the best model representation of an interurban ever built. Negatives…poor trolly poles and excessive wheel slip in tight turns. Placing sitting passengers in seats is real effective especially with stock interior lighting.
