ConCors New Branchline-Commuter & Suburban Cars

I was in Seattle over the weekend and of course checked out one of the LHS to see if I could find a few good deals.

Could not find anything of interest to me, however I did get to see a few of the new Con Cor Branchline coaches. I am very impressed with these cars, interior finish, lighting and lots of added detail parts.

I had ordered a couple of sets of these cars when they were first announced but have yet to hear back on my pre-orders.

I am told these cars are selling extremely well. I was advised that, it appears the number of coaches in the first production run were on the conservative (small) side and that there will be another batch later this year based on demand for these cars.

I just hope that my pre-orders went through ok and that I do not have to wait until the next production run before I receive my sets.

Why don’t you contact Con-Cor and ask them about the status of your pre-order ? Their offices are in Tucson, Arizona.

Their e-mail contact address is concor@con-cor.com

I did not pre-order through Con-Cor directly, pre-order was through an online model railroad shop. I have e-mailed them when I got home on Monday, still waiting for an answer.

It is interesting that they are selling well and that there would be so much interest in “freelanced” cars in this era of " RTR protoype perfection".

Personally, while I don’t need any more passenger cars, I think it is great that ConCor made this move and that Athearn is running a new release of the MDC “Harriman” cars. Those I did order a set of.

Still very happy with the selectively compressed “effect” of my 72’ Athearn and ConCor cars with some detail work done to them.

Sheldon.

I should have waited a while longer before posting this thread.

I just received an invoice for my two sets of the Con-Cor Commuter & Suburban cars. I made payment and was advised the two sets should be in this week’s mail.

I had e-mailed earlier in the week on Monday asking about the status of my pre-order and inquiring as to obtaining another set in another roadname.

I was advised that it was doubtful that I could obtain the third set from this production run and that I should just order from the next run.

I can hardly wait now to try out these cars. Will be retiring two sets of my passenger roster once these cars arrive.

I was gonna say…they contacted me a month ago and even offered to “lay-a-way” my pre-ordered purchase as I had to decline the pre-order for 4 cars-one of each in B&O colors. I have the perfect AB set in same colors to put the cars behind. THey may not have actually followed and FTA&B set in real life, but I am fudging details with the “shorty passeger cars” anyway I think…

WHen I pre-ordered in November of last year I was in a different financial spot than I am now, after Furnace repairs {to be a replacement in August} and several major vehicle reapirs, and 3 plumbing bills.

The lady I talked to from Con-Cor offered the lay-a-way plan if it was a financial issue keeping me from confirming the order and she explained their well pump had gone, then the well dried up and A/c system had failed, so she had great empathy.

It will be billed in 3 mothly installments {may 15th, June 15, and July 15} and will ship July 15th after last installment billed. So even if you face a bit of a financial hardship, they may be willing to work with you.
