Concrete pads

What is the best way to lay track within an industy loading dock that is paved or concreted around the track. I have seen this done on many layouts but I’m the new guy and kinda confused.

AAARGH!

Look at all the recent stuff on concrete. Go back some and check threads on rails in pavement.

The only big things to watch out for are not using any material that will short between your rails ( it’s unlikely you will achieve this) and to keep your flangeways clear.

Being a foreigner… enlighten my darkness… what do you mean by “concrete pads”? Pic please?

Do you mean concrete panels as at grade crossings? These would be more easily represented by building up suitably shaped styrene sheet material in either individual panels or as strips of panels.

Continuous pavement around/between the rails seems to be usually modelled by one of several ways of making/laying plaster… see previous threads.

Have a nice day [:)]

Put some plaster in between the rails, take a truck through there several times to make a flange way, Pizza Cutters work best(Deep flanges in case you don’t know what a pizza cutter is).

I use light weight spackle, it works for asphalt as well as concrete. Sands nicely and is easier to apply than plaster.

If you have junk flextrack, or old useless rail, you can put it inside each rail, works well enough.
