I spend enough time complaining about the content that i do not like, that i felt obliged to complement the mag with a “well done” on the recent article of Lackawanna’s pioneering use of steel reinforced concrete in it’s bridges. Good article.
I agree with Anti! The DL&W’s monuments to itself are awesome to this day. It is worth noting that during a flight from Mudville, NYSSR to Philadelphia, on a clear day some of the other passengers commented on the Nicholson Viaduct, and I’d agree it has an impact on you no matter if it’s from 20,000 ft or inches from you. Then, there’s Martin’s Creek, and Erie’s Starucca Viaduct, which is all stone, and awesome in its own right.
