Concrete Ties

Hi from England, are concrete ties commonly used on the ex Santa Fe BNSF mainlines in So. Cal. I beleive they are very common else were but I just want to check before laying any track. Any help would be great[:)]

Hi from Texas (it’s a whole other country!). Check out a string on concrete ties that’s currently running on the Trains Magazine forum: .http://www.trains.com/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19917

There are some concrete ties in Metrolink territory and, of course on the Alameda corridor, but the majority of the part I see (I may not live there anymore, but I have family there and was just out there last week) is still wood ties. Mudchicken can give you some exact info as he works for BNSF in Engineering. Jump on that other string and I think you’ll get some additional help.

Cheers![C):-)]
