help and infomation coming. Congrats, Dave
Congratulations, Big Fella. May you be here (figuratively and literally) to get the six blue stars.

James
Thanks guys!!
Since I seem to be “the guest of honor” at this “party”, I suppose a small speech is in order.
I have had wonderful time coming here, talking trains, and meeting all of you. Without you, there wouldn’t be much to talk about.
Yes, for all practical purposes I am retired. I have been a member for 745 days, that’s 2 years and 2 weeks plus a leap day.[;)] The average is just over 8 per day, with some days well over 20, and others like yesterday with 0. For those of you who haven’t viewed my profile, these stats, along with a lot of other information can be found there.
Perhaps the biggest reason I have so many posts is due to the fact that I subscribe to 3 of the 5 magazines represented by Trains.com, and post on all of the forums. My interest in trains both real and model is quite broad. I have 40 years of experience that would pretty much go to waste if I didn’t share it. The forums have become the perfect outlet for that.
When I joined, nobody had 5 stars, now there are nearly 50 of us. Of the top 20 posters, there are only 3 whose first names I don’t know. Once you reach 2000 posts, the star incentive is gone, there must be something else that keeps people coming back.
I really like to downplay the star and post count aspect of this place, though I will admit that it was fun for a while. In truth, I noticed early on, that because of the amount of time I had available each day, and my desire to share my experience, I would eventually become the top poster. I was really hoping that this milestone would pass quietly, but now that “the cat is out of the bag”, I might as well fill in some of the details.
Those of you that don’t visit the Trains Magazine forum, may not know who Mookie is. Jenny, that’s Mookie’s real name, has been the top poster on this website since before I arrived. She is a railfan and a much loved character, but rarely ventures beyond that forum. Her access to a computer is very lim
Well, that means there must have been a lot a topics that he liked! Do you have a favorite? I wish I could get on every day;-(, but at least I can work and earn money!!for trains!!! !!!
congrates, and keep it up! DD
Congrats Big Boy, I think the old saying “quality not quantity” doesn’t apply here. You have been helpful to a number of people over the time I’ve been here.
Elliot, congrats!!!
I do thank you for your help.
Your generosity on matters of chat & knowledge is greatly appreciated
Gordon
Way to go. Out in the vast vista fo stars you’re like the Enterprise, “Boldly going where no man has gone before.”
I believe that deserves just one Star
Platinum
Well done Elliot

Double Fergies reply.

congratz ! and thanks for sharing all your experience
now we have to see how long it will take for spacemouse to catch up [:)]
Actually Elliot has managed to find that middle ground between quality and quantity. If you
were to look back over his post, I don’t believe you would find very many "ditto’s"and “I agree’s”.
It’s one thing to receive five stars with trivial one and two word post… it’s pretty amazing to reach
that milestone (and pass it significantly) with well thought out and meaningful comments and
topics. Thanks for your contribution Elliot. Dave
Nice.
