Congress Arizona Store Model

A few weeks or months ago, I saw an ad for a lazer cut model of an old store in Congress Arizona (it has been around for years)…I cannot seem to find it again…does anyone out there remember seeing it? Can you get the manufacturer.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Is this what you’re looking for? “Congress Mercado”

That’s it! I used to drive past it everyday on my way to work and it always intrigued me…probably dates back to the early mining days…last time I went that direction it had been torn down, so the only model of it is this kit…bought it and will probably make a diorama…the PeaVine line to Prescott passes the store on the other side of the street…and there are two other old buildings there wating to be modeled…one as the Congress Hotel…

Thanks for the reply.

my plan is to model the Peavine in 1905 , so i guess i better get oneof these kits . thanks for the heads up !

Congress Mercado is an excellent kit. I have one in my old west town.

I’ve known Brian Bollinger of Bollinger Edgerly Scale Trains (B.E.S.T.) for 15 years or more, and he and his wife (she is mostly running the business-end of it) are really good people. I’ve been a fellow club member of his in two different RR clubs here in Mass., and while he’s a B&M fan, this “Congress Mercado” is something he saw on vacation while out west. He told me he was driving around, saw the place and said, “That’s cool!” He stopped and took a bunch of pictures, brought 'em home, and made it into a laser kit.

Next time I see him, I’ll have to tell him it’s been torn down as I don’t think he knows.

BTW, did you know that he also owns Ambroid? True story: When Brian bought the laser kit company that he used to contract with to make his kits, the other company had somehow picked up the rights to the old Ambroid kits. Brian may now own the rights, but he doesn’t have the models or instructions or much else, really. But he’s got the name if he ever wants to use it. It’s not a rush item, as he’s a little busy getting his own stuff out there.
