I wonder what amount of funding will be attached to this bill, to pay for the additional inspectors, besides none?

It ‘should’ be no extra funding, CBP’s Office of Operations (OFO) already clears everything entering the U.S. via the manifests so I’m ‘assuming’ they’ll just forward the information they already collect.

The “Border Patrol/ICE/CBP” takes two hours to clear Amtrak’s “Adirondack” at Rouse’s Point, NY. Will it, now, take a week to clear a train of newsprint?. The DHS is a joke and should be disbanded! Well, maybe after the IRS and the EPA are history. There is always hope!

It’s not the US Border Patrol;they patrol BETWEEN the ports of entry.
Customs and Border Protection (the super agency over the Border Patrol) operate the ports (including passenger train clearance) and the VACIS machines at the rail crossings.
