Connecting 1122 to 5122 switch

I am trying to connect a RH 1122 to a RH 5122 at their respective curved track end. It seems as though the insulator pins are not compatible. How does one hook them up together? Without the pins, neither works. With the pins, only the 5122 works.

It could be that you are not providing power to the track that the 5122 is connected to. There should be no insulating pin in the center rail between the switches; but there should be an insulating pin in both running rails between the switches. However, this interrupts the circuit through the running rails between the two sections of track; so you must provide a common connection somewhere else on the 5122’s side. This can be through an additional lockon to any part of the track; or you could solder a short wire from the outside curved rail of one switch to the outside curved rail of the other.
Does any of this help?

Thanks. I’ll check into it and let you know if that fixes it.
