On another forum there is a discussion on this and I figured I would enlist the help of this gang as well. There is a request to have some decals made to letter these diesels. The question came up as to what color the stripes are. The red and black are pretty apparent. The middle stripe has caused a bit of debate. Some think it is gold and others seem to think it is green. Has anyone seen these engines in person to be able verify the colors? Also there is a stripe combo that includes a grey/silver color. Below are a couple of links showing these engines

What I also found that is very interesting is this RS1. I think this is the first chop nose RS1 I have seen.

It looks like there may have to be more than 1 set of decals made for these locos.

Can’t help you on decals, but thought you might be interested to know we have a Conrad Yelvington locomotive stationed here at CSX’s Wyoming yard in Grand Rapids, MI. An EMD SW9, Conrad Yelvington runs a lime distribution here.

the decals aren’t the problem. I have most of the artwork done for them. I just need to figure out the striping colors on the white painted units. I have the picture you posted. I think it is one of the few units that are not in the white paint scheme.
I work at the DeFuniak Springs, FL location for Conrad Yelvington Distributors Inc. The stripes on our train (from top to bottom) Red, Gold, Black. Below is a link that will show the locomotive at my location. The pyramids on the side of the cab, the red is a little faded and almost looks pinkish, but it is actually red.

Wow, talk about a blast from the past. Having run into the color issue roadblock I put this project onto the back burner and totaly forgot about it. Is it me and my color blindness problem or does that gold stripe look green? This was the major hold-up on this project as I had conflicting guesses at the time as to the correct color. Thanks for the confirmation on the colors. I may have to find some time to get this project back under way.
