I don’t think It’s silly at all, from time to time people like to run photo-freights and it’s nice to have period equipment. I just found it curious that they didn’t say if it was originall PRR, RDG, NYC or whatever.

Along with the restoration of a transfer caboose, I think this is silliness.

That’s YOUR opinion, Mr. Hays and you what they say about opinions. At one time I wonder why a GN SD-45 was saved; well, how many SD-45s are running today? Don’t you understand the word “posterity” and I don’t mean someone’s booty.

I really don’t understand this. Not because I don’t see the value in preserving “ordinary” portions of our history (I do), but because this article makes no real argument for why I should send my money. With so many exciting steam projects to support, WHY should I send money to support this project. Just tell me.

IF not for Conrail the NS and CSX we know today would not exist. CRR was a success taking care of the mess northeast railroads were in at time of its formation. Was it perfect, no. But the other options were no better. So if the group wants to preserve equipment fine by me. If someone does not like the idea move on to other things.

I support restoring all antique railroad equipment!!!
