1968 to 1979 track layout for the city. Want to proto for HO.

A few more words would have helped understand what you are after. If it is a track diagram for that era try microsoft.terraserver .com. they have airial views and US coast and Geodesic survey maps for mot of the country from a couple of eras for most areas. I have found the USC&GS maps to be very outdated and a general source of track locations which can be verified from the airial shots as to where the roadbed was if it doesn’t exist any more.

Having worked there from 1967 to 1980, I suupose a more recent photo would be OK. I rarely have access to the net, so I’m just trying to find a layout of that location in the easyest manner possible. I’ve tryed to print pictures from USAMaps (JDMCOX.com) but the results were terrible . Thanks for your reply.

Good luck on your project and hope that you get the data you need. I was surprised to see “Kankakee” show up as a post, nice to hear from someone who is local. I haven’t been out to the Conrail yards in quite awhile. Does it still handle a good amount of traffic? anyway, best of luck again modeling the West yards. I’d love to see the results sometime.
