Conrail to replace bridge damaged in derailment
This has been a headline news story in Philadelphia news (it’s right across the river). I would be happy to see a Trains article, written from a railroading perspective, on how railroads handle questionable track conditions and the incidents that arise from them.
Bridge not locked, signal was not displayed to proceed. Who authoirized movement, and who inspected the route prior to movement ?? Would be great to see the facts presented, many issues not addressed in story.
