Other than the Building the New Rapid Transit System…" and the few articles that have appeared in MR by Bronsky does anyone have any suggestions on where I can find detailed drawings of el structures that I can model?
Not sure where you’d find drawings, but there’s plenty of photos at www.oldnyc.com and www.forgotten-ny.com of Els in various states of repair - it should be possible to build something convincing working from these, though it might not be 100% accurate. I’ve been considering a model of the NYC’s High Line for a while now - I might manage to incorporate it into the layout eventually…
Hope this is of help!
I have a couple of photos of el equipment from boston here is one of their elevated towers used to for switching:

Right off the top of my head I know I have pics of a 1911 boston elevated 13 ton crane. I’ll need to dig them up I also have pics of two NYC subways cars long retired.
Hail seizer !
Oh, how I wish I were in Rome again. Seriously though, I did a Google search using “elevated railway scale model” as the search term and one of the hits was this URL:
http://www.monmouth.com/~patv/railroad.html
If you scroll down on his page to the book section, he cites one book that would appear to have the drawings for which you are searching. He also cites some articles by others than Mr. Bronsky and what appears to be a periodical on the subject. Hope this helps.
BTW, welcome to the forum !
