I hope it’s a success. South Florida is a"black hole" for Truckers, getting a return load from there is very difficult at best, and this ought to get more freight off of the highways!

South Florida will remain a “black hole” for truckers, I’m afraid, as the only ones benefiting from increased intermodal will be drayage operators. Truck load and LTL trucks won’t be picking up the containers (other than the occasional flatbed), so taking a load to Miami area will still be dicey in regard to getting a load back out. I always have to figure at least a 400-mile deadhead out of there when considering a load into the area, since that is the most likely end result for me.

Florida needs to direct solving its transportation problems away from building more new highways. The new toll roads built in the state have not solved congestion problems, made driving more expensive, and are a culprit of budget problems. Many toll roads have had their debts refinanced several times over long past the ten or so years that was origjnally projected that they would be paid off with the revenues collected.
