Container firm to offer Maine service
Portland? I thought the goal is to shorten transit times to the major distribution centers, not just the first possible port-of-call. How does Portland support that?
I assume this is in conjunction with Pan Am Southern - which is the NS/Pan Am team up. Assume NS will be on top of things.
Difficult to believe that PanAm-or whatever they are calling themselves this week-can come lose to matching the service provided by NS or CSX. One factor might be that the Portland Port is far less congested than Hampton Roads.

My favorite was the Grand Trunks compact yard on the waterfront. GP-9s and RS-11s was the power. So much fun watching them switch the small yard and make up the daily road freight.
