Contract signed to boost South Jersey rail links
Paulsboro to Delair makes sense. Lots of traffic. Lots of potential. Salem to Woodbury through Swedesboro - I don’t understand what traffic is driving the investment.
While I am usually in favor of any improvement to rail services ( passenger or freight) upgrading the line to Salem COULD help the growth of the “Port of Salem” which seems to have remained a pretty small-scale operation. Improved rail connections certainly could make the “Port” more viable as a commercial operation.
Only rail link, or only freight rail link? Does PATCO use the same rails? And is this the same line that has been used to carry commuter traffic to Atlantic City from Philly?
