I have a FM H10-44 Diesel Switcher with PS-2 from M.T.H… I’m looking for a transformer for this engine and a handheld controller. I have a Williams engine(GP-7?) and a Lionel steamer #2020 from 1946. I need to update to a bigger transformer to control these units. Current is an old Lionel model.
Thanks, Dave
Hey Dasan_us
I would get M.T.Hs dcs system or mths z-4000 transformer.
I have freinds that have theses units and dont know much but that should be helpfull.
The website for mth is www.railking.com
Loco681
Thanks, I know about the 4000, but not to sure how everything works. I was looking for the basic operation.
dave
I would buy a Z1000 transformer& controller. This unit has 100W output power, and will allow you to access the sounds & other features of your FM 10-44. You could also buy a K-line K120 transformer-- pretty much identical to the MTH unit except 120W output
Hope this helps!
DAve - Do you wi***o run comand or conventional control [?]
Hi tom Can you run both conventional and command on the same loop wth dcs or must they only operate in complete isolated loops? You might have gotten me itchy into getting dcs. I have to see what the do’s and don’ts are before I get involved into picking one of the mth set ups. Felix
HI Felix
yes with DCS you can run both a conventional engine and several comand engines on the same track at the same time. The comand engines will not run any faster than the voltage that is set for the conventional engine.
If Dave is not wanting to run command, the the Z4000 does have a remote for running conventional engines or command engines in convetional mode.
Thanks tom I will be going to my local train store this am and may be pick up a few things that I may need and get price quote on the dcs system. Felix
I posted a reply back into the forum yesterday under ps-2. I hit post new reply to soon.
I wanted to run the mth in command mode. The williams (it’s a gp-9) i would like in command but i may need a chip to control it. The 2020 will have to be in conventional mode. Thanks, Dave
