Conversion of a Kato GP35 to high hood Sou unit.

Well technically it’s lettered for the Central of Georgia since none of the Sou GP35’s had blomberg trucks. I used a Cannon & Co. short high hood and Microscale decals. Also a southern style bell and the proper horns. I have a new Athearn GP35 which I plan to do as a proper Southern unit.

Nice-looking conversion, Bob. [tup][tup] I’ve always liked both Southern and N&W locos for their use of high short hoods, long after most roads went to the low-nosed models. In my opinion, most geeps and SDs look better with high hoods and I’m not averse to long-hood forward, either. [;)] Even the GP30, one of my least-favourites, looks decent with a high short hood.
