I have my basic layout started in Right Track Software but I’m wondering is there an easy way to convert the plan too flextrack?
Not that I’ve found. I just picture it without all the connecting dots. If somebody knows, I’d be interested in finding out.
Not the answer you were seeking, I know: but you might consider XtrkCad. Free software. Handles flextrak very well. Links to download at http://www.sillub.com/. I use it, and am very impressed with it.
There is a tool in the newest version of RTS (7.0) that converts sectional track to flex track. Click on “Tools” on the mail menu. From there you will find a selection; “Flex track”, and from that submenu, there is a “Convert to flex track”. Once you do this, the tool replaces the cursor when you line it up over a section of track. Just left click while the tool is lined up over that section. It works pretty good, too.
You can also add the tool for it to your toolbars at the top of the window by right clicking on the main toolbar area, then select “Customize” and selecting the “Convert to flextrack” tool from the “Tools” section of the menu customization dialog box.
That is a good program, but your link doesn’t work. I think the period on the sentice got into the link. Try this;
For some reason the download link has been deactivated lately. I’m not sure when, or if, it will be working again.

And God said, “Let there be light!” And there was, and He saw that it was good!
Just the ticket! Thanks medina1128
I don’t understand. What is the point of wanting to do this? Flex track can be laid anywhere you want it. What difference does it make if it isn’t “flex” on the plan?
TZ,
I tried this and it makes it a little easier to read if you have complicated trackwork. Less of those little white dots to stare at.
As someone mentioned it’s a lot easier to read. I recieved a plan from someone and wanted to convert it to flextrack. Less dots etc. It also gave an idea on how much flex track I will need.
I hadn’t noticed that.
OK TZ,
I’ve messed with it and messed with it. The only way that I can make ALL the dots go away is to disconnect the tracks from each other. How are you doing it?
Element,
Properties,
Track tab,
In the center of the menu - Connectors
Set “Diameter of Circles” = 0.0
Oh yeah. Even though there is a button for apply changes, I’ve noticed sometimes you still have to quit and restart with the new config file.
TZ,
Well, what do ya know,…an old dog can learn new tricks! Thank’s again!
