Convert Atlas Turntable to 90'

Would appreciate any ideas, drawings, etc. to covert Atlas TT to a 90’ TT. Thanks for your help

While I’ve never done it, There have been several who have used the Atlas 9" table as the mechanism for a more prototypical-looking table. The idea is to mount the Atlas table below the layout, and fasten the shaft of the “viewable” turntable bridge to the center of the Atlas table. You run the atlas table and it moves the turntable bridge on the visible TT. The only issue I have with the idea is the unrealistic action of the Atlas table in stopping at every track position, regardless of whether there is a track there, or if you want the turntable to stop there or not.

Another option, somewhat similar, is to make a pit with just the pit walls, and build the bridge on top of the Atlas table, using the “covered pit” surface of the Atlas TT as the floor of the pit. Of course, you should also cover the Atlas surface with styrene painted a concrete color.

Might be simpler to just buy a 90’ TT elsewhere. More costly, to be sure, but you usually get what you pay for in that respect.
