What a shame, it seems like they just got it back from the last overhaul. I understand the need to inspect them, but every other year??? I would complain why this has to be done during the their busy season.
This locomotive CONWAY SCENIC 7470 is the pride of northern New Hampshire.
Vincent, don’t be so sad. 7470 will be back in service in a couple years after her overhaul, and we at Mass Bay RRE look forward to running many more trips behind her. And Kevin Burkholder’s “awesome photo” of 7470 was taken during our 7th annual ‘Steam in the Snow’ event on the Conway Scenic on January 4, 2014.
It’s really sad to see that 7470 is retiring this spring.
