Cookie cutter setups

Iwas reading another subject and the guy said he used a cookie cutter to incline his track. What is a cookie cutter incline?

Imagine laying your track on a piece of plywood, just how you want it to go. You then cut out a 4" strip along the route of your track. Then you take that piece of plywood and put it above your frame and raise it to the correct height.

The basic table is Lgirder. Then the subroad bed is cut from 1/2 inch plywood. These strips are then held above the joists with T shaped risers screwed to the joists. The sub bed then sits on the T risers. The sub bed is just wider than the track. Scenery then is fit into the spaces. Both plaster cloth and foam works well. If this is all new to you, getting a basic book on train table construction would be worth the effort.

Hey someone swiped one of my pics.

If photobucket is working see my WWW below for the rest.

Art you make it look so easy Ithink your a genius when it comes to layouts and building life like scenes. One more question i have is what is your setup displayed on?

newbies. Thanks for the compliment, but wait till you see the pics of the guys who can really do this. Bob G., Aggro, Joe F., UKguy. There are some real artists out there. Did you see the article on Chubb in Scale Rails mag? Have you looked at the web pages for John Allen and the Gorre and Dephetid. Keep us posted. We are having a good time on this forum.
