Very nice site for paint schemes for the major railroads and rural/regional lines. Not sure if anybody else has posted this URL before.
Very nice ! Thanks for posting it ! It’s going to come in mighty handy
for me.[:)]
Me too. I’m working on MKT.
Thanks again.
Thanks for posting that.
Cool! [8D] I found schemes for bothe of the regional short lines that i want to interchange with on my new layout. This is truly helpful info. Thanks. [bow]

I’m hardly impressed with the NH ones… Some schemes were bogus.
Others had major stuff missing, some were extremely poor renditions of the fonts and “NH”.
Not to mention bogus colors on the first 2 DL-109’s…
Not even close to some of the major schemes represented either…
Dave,
Kudos for the heads up as some NH modelers might use them for reference [8D]
Could you elaborate specifically which railroad schemes you know for sure are inaccurate…point out what are the mistakes shown?
Thanks!
I also think the all-black CGW F7 is bogus. I’ve never heard of them all black.
I would be cautious also. Verify with photographic evidence before blindly assuming an individuals art work is correct.
awesome webpage now i can tell company and loco type hopefully bookmarked it
Thanks
Nick
OK, Antonio and my fellow NH modelers - fasten your seatbelts - I’ll note the ones I can verify right away… The switchers are a bit harder since there were many variations.

The road number is missing from the rear side panel and the font is far off - actual front was more horizontal than vertical.

Number is missing.

These were PULLMAN GREEN NOT black. Font is off again, number missing. Bottom stripe is missing - if its supposed to be delivery it should have an oval around the group of side windows - otherwise its revised scheme.

These were HUNTER GREEN NOT black. This was the “Brooks Brothers” scheme. Font is off again, number missing off the back panel.

This unit (0759) was a DER-1c, did not have cluttered roof and was painted after being rebuilt which replaced the windows witha screen. Fonts off, number missing…

I can’t be definite on this one. Some had very small NH’s on the side, I think some got this size (appx). Anyway, the number is missing and the “NEW HAVEN” font is small serif lettering - not tall like that.

Font and number again.
I thought most of the B&M schemes looked ok. At least a place to start.
it’s a nice site and all, but they didn’t mention the specifc colors of the paint schemes…like SP colors…no mention of SP scarlett which could be mistaken for plain red, or daylight orange which could be mistaken for any color orange in a variety of different shades…chuck
Just don’t use it to paint models. Example: B&O GP30’s were never black as the drawings show.
thanks for the links
Nice pic Nharrison21
It is hard for the artist to exactly match the color of the actual railroad. It all depends on the monitor, lighting, manufacturer, pixels, the color amount in the paint programs, etc (I assumed, since I don’t know much about computers). David, you really know your NH schemes!!
If you have a photo at an angle and can’t really find any other photographs, this site may help.
I am more into UP and Santa fe so they look alright from the models and photos I have seen, but I don’t really know about the history of the schemes yet.
I have been looking for a color picture of a DSS&A RS-1and have not been able to find one until now. Thank you very much. Rob.
