I just got 2 kits, both Cornerstone, one Merchants Row I and Western Ave. Fire Station.
I opened the boxes, which was sealed in plastic and found that there are some missing parts in each kit. What can I do (if anything)? Thanks. Mike

Send Walthers an email and they will send you the missing parts. I had the same problem last month and had the part in my hand a week after I emailed them.
Yeah, that’s their policy. My P2K Mather box car kits came with a note in the instructions which said to contact them if there was a problem. They even indicated that they’d replace parts if I broke them while building the kit. They want you to end up with a nice model.
[#ditto]I did the same thing with a backwoods engine shed. No doors and some windows gone.
Walthers is very responsive, they will get the parts to in a week or two. I had a broken handrail on my turntable. They got it to me pretty fast. You can use the email link on their website.
hmm another reason we pay a tad bit more for the walthers kit’s
good to know, thanks for posting.

I have been building and bashing Walthers buildings for many moons and I don’t believe I have ever been short a part. I had parts that didn’t fit very well, or required some work, but not missing. Haven’t build one in the last year, is this a new thing with missing parts?

I found the retired market at a train show which was factory sealed and found discovered one wall section was missing. I called Walthers and within three days had the missing wall section.
Both myself and my wife have been dealing with Walthers for a few years and have not had bad service.

anytime i had missing broken parts they wanted $5 for the part(s) or $10 for a loc shell
