Hi,
I have several Athearn blue box four stripe F7’s A’s and B’s painted in yellow, and an Athearn RTR F7 A/B set painted orange. Which is correct, and if neither one, what would be the correct color?
Thanks

If they’re Rio Grande, they might both be right, although you probobly shouldn’t listin to me; ask a Rio Grande fan; I’m probobly wrong.
‘RIO GRAND’ ENGINES used different paint schemes at different times.
One was an ‘orangy’ yellow with black stripes, and later silver replacing the stripes. The Alcos were in Yellow & Silver, Later yet, black & orange GP-40s pulled the CZ when I lived in Denver
Looks like you’ll have one engine from a different era - or is that ‘error’?
ASK JIM.
Athearn occasionally has an error in their paint schemes. The one I’m thinking of, are those green Pennsylvania RR F units. PRR used DGLE (Dark Green Locomotive Enamel) or “Brunswick Green” on their units. That color was pretty close to black. Yet, the Athearn engines are much lighter than that.
