Correction on Paint /////Trak Works Chair Car Interior Kit arrived today!

Thanks to Keith Turley for this correction about the paint information.

Ken at Trakworks has found an error in his paint diagram for the chair cars:
Please note: The instructions on the color diagram and in the written instructions describe using “Poly S GREAT Northern Green” to mix for painting the seats. This is incorrect and should be Poly S Burlington Northern Green # F4 14209.
Passing it on…

The second kit in the interior kit line for the Walthers Hi Level El Cap cars arrived today. I have three kits and each will do two cars so there is a lot of work to be done during the winter.

I enjoyed your last pics of your interior work. I can’t wait to see the results of this kit.

I hope it isn’t too long to wait.

Here’s the YouTube video for the Coach interior sets:

Thanks for the reply. The coach project probably will not be done until February and I have five more Hi Level Coach cars after the pilot model.

Thanks Matt

I had not viewed that video.

Correction on paint information.

Thanks, I was going to buy the paint today. Just curious if anyone knows the colors for the first level. I assume the baggage area was stainless steel, but how about the restrooms? I think there’s only the vestibule and windowshades in the kit.[:^)]

Good question! Looking at the kit, only the vestibule portion for the lower level is in the kit and the window coverings.

We will see if anyone else knows what the colors should be.

CAZEPHYR, thanks for confirming that I wasn’t crazy about the kit.

Now that I have the motivation to do 4 cars, I’ve started to “Pop” them apart.

The Trak Works You-Tube on taking the cars apart is an excellent reference. What I found out was that it’s easier to remove the sides after the ends then you can squeeze the inside frame and the roof just lifts off. I was more concerned about losing roof tabs so the cars close all the way when I’m done.

You will need two kits to do the four cars if I have the information correct.

The kit is interesting but will take a lot of time with all of those individual seats to be completed.

Post some pictures of your work as you go along if you don’t mind.

I will not be starting any of my cars for a month or so.
