According to the News paper in the Omaha world herald the UP 6900 will be on the move this Saturday down at the Drop yard just east of the Amtrak Depot.
The move is sapposed to start at right before 9am This Sat.
Here is the site for conformation: http://www.omaha.com Click Business.

Thanks for the update.
Does anyone know if the 6900’s that were donated for displays still have traction motors and engine/generator sets?
If these have been removed, then the UP6900 moved will be much simpler than the Big Boy move.

Good hopefully it will be at its new home when I hit Nebraska in early May[:o)][:I][:D][:p]

spbed - there is also a 6900 (I can’t remember the number) on display at the city park in Pocatello ID. That park is an excellent place to watch UP switch the inbound yard there.

Super duper will be passing thru Pocatello on May 28th on the way to Yellowstone. You can be sure I will see it & take some pix. Please give the street where it is so I can mapquest it if you know. 2 6900s + the big boy all within a couple of weeks I guess you can call that one super treat. Maybe the only thing better would be to see the team I root for win a SB after 36 years. Thanks. [:o)][8D][:D]

The UP6900 has had the Prime movers removed right when it was retired.
I do believe the the Locomotive will be moved with out it’s Trucks. According to photo’s on Railpictures.net. I could be wrong too.
Are they still moving her on Sat. April 9 or have things changed again.
Tomorrow is the day!!!
I live in the future, so today is the day… Good hunting.
Thanks I will be there.
Oh goody so it will be in its final resting place when I reach Neb in May! [:o)][:p][:)]

It’s the UP#6901 and its located in Lower Ross Park. If you’re going to be coming up to Poky from SLC via I-15, take the 5th Ave. Exit (the first Pocatello Exit northbound). Turn left on 5th; 5th separates into 4th (both are one-way) shortly thereafter. Take a left on Fredregill; follow it until you get to a four-way stop at 2nd. Turn left on 2nd and drive past the old drive-in and into the park. There will be a large parking lot/swimming pool on your right. Go ahead and park in the lot; the #6901, the #2005 and the caboose will be in plain sight adjacent to the railroad tracks (old departure yard).
As for the #6901, it still has its twin 645s and main alternators. However, just about everything else (power assemblies, cab signals stuffs, module cards, air compressors, etc.) were removed at the Pocatello Diesel Shop before it was placed on display in the park.
