Cost estimates rise for new Capitol Corridor station

The Fairfield station site is just about 15 rail miles from the great Western Railway Museum at Rio Vista Junction. Most of this track and ROW is already owned by the Museum. Wouldn’t it be a dream if WRM could have a “pocket track” (like the new platform at Perris) and operate trains from Fairfield to the Museum?

This is a also a short distance to Travis AFB.

That would work for Western Railway Museum since Capital Corridor trains run on weekends. As for Perris, Metrolink only runs weekdays on the 91 Line. That line currently runs between Riverside and L.A. via Fullerton which runs weekdays only. Once the Perris Valley Line opens the 91 lines will run as far as Perris.
