Could someone confirm if Piko purchased Intermountain?

Hello everybody,

just read on a German forum dealing with North American railroading that Piko-I believe a ex East German manufacturer now owned by Marklin-has purchased Intermountain. Apparently the Piko factory in China has excess capacity and will now produce models for Intermountain. The current owner from Intermountain will remain in charge of the company for the selection of models for the North American market for the next 10 years. The new owners hope to be able to complete any outstanding orders by the end of 2013, with Piko taking ownership of Intermountain May1, 2013. A second manufacturer of North American models is also asking Piko to use their facilities. Has anyone else read something about this?

Aside from the fact, that Piko is an independent company and not owned by Marklin, the rumor that Piko took over Intermountain is just an April Fool´s joke!
