As I was running my Walter E. Disney engine, I’ve mentioned and posted pictures of it many times before, the sound system went dead. I opened it up to see if all the wires were connected and all the wires were connected. I disconected the speaker and put another-nothing. I really don’t know what to do. Maybe the circuit board got fried and is no longer producing the sounds? I will add that I have been wanting to install a sound system that is more akin to the real Walter E. Disney’s whistle, bell, etc. The engine was made by Scientific Toys.

If you want to add an aftermarket sound system, Small Scale Railways makes a battery powered system that sounds good and is easy to install and resonably inexpensive. It runs off a 9 volt battery. You could put it in the tender of your locomotive or even in the loco itself

At the website, you can here samles of the various sounds tey offer nd pick the one that best matches the walt disney. More expensive sound cars sound better, but even with the small scale card the cost of adding sound is probably greater than the cost of the loco

Hi, I know we always like what comes with loco or what we install, but sound boards move on. Try an on line demo of Phoenix sound I use this sort and i`m 100% happy with it
So does that mean that all sound boards eventually burn out? This is why I think air whistles are so much better and simple…[:(!]
They dont burn out as such you only need 1 dry joint and it stops working, if you have any in the electronices field they my be able to find what is wrong, but remember the old saying about new wine in old bottles

The WDW train set engines are actually 2-6-0 moguls. I think the all golden one looks so hidieous.

As for the WDW 2-6-0 (I stand corrected) it is a must for every WDW fan of there 50th Ann. and Byron has that…just think even you can repaint it to red, white and WDW!
