Hi all, I’m just starting out in the hobby, and am wondering a couple of things. Is Bachmann EZ track able to be connected with regular Bachmann track? Also, what is the best way to go about removing factory installed rail joiners from the EZ track? I have tried pulling at them with a needle-nose pliers, and all I am doing is bending the track. Thanks for any responses. [:)]
some rail joiners dont come off easy or at all on some
sometimes I use wirecutters to grab inside the connectr
be carefull if you see it bending just stop

Why are you removing the joiners?
[#welcome] to the forum and the hobby
yes you can connect ‘regular’ track to EZ track as long as it is the same code (ie railheight, EZ track is code 100)
Why would you want to remove the joiners?? Although this can be done, from what I remember when I did it, the joiners on the EZ track sit in a lil notch in the rail to hold them in place permanently, to remove the connecter bend the sides of the joiner away from the rail, it should then slide off easily, do not force it off, if you need to force it it is still gripping, bend the joiner away from the rail some more. The connectors will then be worthless though.
Have fun & be safe, read and ask

I am trying to remove a joiner so that I can slide on a joiner that is soldered to a wire, to get power from my pack to the track. The only place I can find the EZ track piece w/ wire is on the Bachmann website, and it would cost me 14 bucks w/shipping. Walthers doesn’t have it, my 2 LHS do not have it, either. Perhaps someone knows of a website where I could get the track piece/rerailer with wire, without having to pay 9 dollars shipping. I appreciate your responses very much, guys![:D]
You could get a soldering iron for less than 14 bucks and solder the wires
to the existing joiners. This way you could add as many feeders as you like.
Good luck, Dave
I with Dave, I would have desodered the joiner on the regulare track instead of trying to take of the joiner off the ez track. Soldering irons are not that expensive.

One of the reasons for removing the EZ track joiners is that they’re pretty much doo-doo as far as maintaining a good connection. The best way I’ve found is to get a very small screwdriver and gently pry them out where they join the rail. They should slip right out after that, and then I’d use Atlas rail joiners, which are much sturdier. The EZ track connectors are extremely thin and fragile and work loose very easily. As to joining EZ track to any other brand, the EZ track roadbed is about 1/4" taller than other brands. You’ll need to either shim up or down when connecting them, or if you use them with flex-track, use a combination of Woodland Scenics HO foam roadbed on a base of WS N-scale foam. The height will be a perfect match, then.
