engines to comand contol? looking for the ones with sound.

How many cab1 remotes can you have running on the same layout.
thinking one for me and one for my old man when he comes over to run trains?

I’ve seen as many as 5 remotes working against the same command base with the only issue being if more than one user tries to control the same device.

Using 2 CAB-1’s for the same engine usually isn’t a problem since the probability of both giving commands at the same instant is remote. I use 2 when one of the grandaughters is running a train, just in case.

I currently use 3 CAB1 and 4 DCS controllers to handle 14 trains simultaneously. The multiple controllers facilitates switching between engines as well as giving you the ability to hand over engine control to multiple persons.

At train shows, Ive seen up to 20 TMCC remotes being run at one time… several layouts, yet the reach is about 100 feet, antenna fdully extended

The various books and articles state that conventional locos can be operated with the Cab-1 remote. So far I have not been able to do this,I think every thing is connected properly, but I get no response at all. Any help would be appreciated. roger

You can operate Conventional from Cab 1 but you need a TPC or PowerMaster to do so. I am not sure what your set up is—do you have a TPC/PoMA and its still not working for Conventional engines?
