Are Kadee and Micro-Train’s Magne-Matic the same coupler? If not, how compatible are they?
Thanks

Are you talking H-O scale or N-Scale?
Kadee is H-O and Micro Trains are N-Scale.
What’s so confusing?

Actually N scale is what I mean. Maybe the confusion stems from my LHS. I’m new to this and when I asked for “Kadee” couplers for my N scale rolling stock no one has corrected me, but I end up with Micro Train’s stuff.
Bottom line is I’m having trouble getting these couplings to fuction smoothly. Just purchased “5 in 1” guage and need to figure it out. Currently searching old threads in the forum for relevent tweaks and useful tips. I’m leaning towards getting rid of the MT delayed uncoupler magnet in favor of a McHenry one.
Thanks

MicroTrains used to be Kadee’s N/Z scale line. The brothers who owned Kadee split the company between them. One taking HO and larger (Kadee) and the other N and smaller (MicroTrains). They are the best, but it often happens that a good design gets more finicky when reduced in size…
Thanks, DSchmitt. That info clarifies my brain. [:D]
Have been reading the old threads on MT couplers and the bare minimun appears tobe use the gauge and get the magnets from Radio Shack.
Thanks
