I want to change all my stock couplers to Kadee brand. I just need to know what Kadee product to use?
For most rolling stock, you can’t go wrong with the good old reliable Kadee #5. Most good hobby shops sell a package that comes with 10 or 20 pairs of them.
Kadee’s web site has a chart that shows the coupler number recommended for the various brands of locomotives and rolling stock. The new #148 Whisker coupler is a good one to use in place of the #5 because it eliminiates the need for the separate bronze centering spring.
