Almost all my cars and all my engines have horn hook couplers. And I was woundering if it is worth it to switch to knuckle. But I think I have one problem, most of my cars are older and have to coupler hitched to the truck not the car its self. Any suggestions[?][?][?]
They are called Talgo, and Kadee has talgo adapters that work good. I prefer using proto 2000 knuckle couplers with these adapters as they have an build in centering spring and coil sping and work in my opion better than kaddee’s when using the talgo adapters. You can also mount #5 kaddee with the draft box to the body and cut off the talgo from the truck. Costs more nad is lots of work and is rather finnicky and irreversable. Or you can also replace the trucks and mount #5 kaddee with gearbox. But now you are spending what a new Athearn’s car costs and still have a toy boxcar. I do the first method now, but have cars in all three.
