CP 5494 is it /was it a SD40M-2 or a SD45

Hi All,

Just a query. I have a model of the locomotive 5494, the box says it is a SD45, I saw the real thing in Alyth Yard, Calgary and on the side it was lettered SD40M-2. Having looked on the web I came across this picture which states it is a rebuild. What is it a rebuild from; an SD45 or am I missing the mark. I wasn’t sure any SD40 variations had the flared intake grilles on the rear.

The Canadian Trackside Guide says it is a SD40M-2 rebuilt in 1995 from D&RGW SD45 5316. The engine is a 16-645E3. They have 5 D&RGW and 2 SP SD45 in that group.
