CP Rail Holiday Train Schedule

Here is a link to Canadian Pacific’s Holiday train schedule. If it’s coming to a town close to you its well worth the look. CP has been doing this for around 7 years now I believe. They do this to bring in money and food to North American food banks. How often do you get to see Santa driving a locomotive?

This train is worth traveling some distance to see – and I say that as someone who more than once has stood in cold rain to see it. The Christmas show they put on is not necessarily my taste in music but the quality of entertainer seems high. Don’t forget to bring food for the food pantry which is the whole purpose for the thing
By the way the times I have seen it Santa is waving from the open platform observation not waving from the cab – I guess I missed that.

Thanks, I learned that it doesn’t stop here during school hours this year! It is worth going a distance to see, I wanted to skip school for it last year!

If Santa drives the train than he must where overalls and a orange reflective vest, and he must have shaved, as last year he wasn’t in the cab…

I plan on going to see the train again here in WI. Last year I went over to Portage WI to see it, and with the free hot chocolate and cookies provided by a local volunteer organization, it was a great night for it. I am definately going to see it again this year.

Noah

thanks alot for the tip!
i hopefully will be able to catch it in bowmaville (if my grandma will drive me!)

Expect large crowds if the train is on time.

Gordon

I remember 2003, that was a big crowd! It was dark, too! Can’t wait for it!

Could this be CP’s “Christmas Train” as it started out? If not, what “Holiday” are they referring to? Thanksgiving? Arbor Day? Chinese New Year? We had be a little more specific here in case we get mixed up on our “Holidays” *I understand someone called “Santa” actually drives the train.

How did the word Christmas end up being such a bad word? Here in Nova Scotia we send down a Christmas tree to Boston every year in appreciation for how they helped Halifax recover from the “Halifax explosion”. For some reason Boston this year decided to call it the “Holiday Tree”.

Frig this annoys me. [:(!][V]

Thanks for pointing this out Tatans!

that kinda upsets me that boston did that and i dont live anywere close to boston.

everything is so p.c now it’s it drives me nuts. and some people are so willing to give up there rights so they don’t upset anyone else [:(!]

The funny thing though is that people of other faiths and religions are not complaining…anyway…this is kinda off topic…my mistake.

People of other faiths and religions are complaining, that is the problem. Its very sad that anything to do with Christmas is now called Holiday this or Holiday that. What bothers me is that I don’t care what other people do with their celebrations, why should they be offended by mine? In Toronto we have a Gay Pride parade, thats not my cup of tea but I’m not offended by it. If I’m not offended by a bunch of half naked men and women marching in a parade then how can somebody be offended by the word Christmas? I don’t get it, I guess some people just aren’t happy unless they are complaining about something.

. . . just a reminder that despite the semantics, this IS a charity effort so bring some canned or shelf-stable food . . .

I volunteer some hours at the food bank…hunger never ends…every item of non-perishable food counts…and please try your hardest to ensure the cans are not dented…cans with bad dents get discarded.
