New General Purpose locomotives, sweet.

Odd to see a Geep with an admiral cab.

That cab front and low nose… Anyone else besides me see some inspiration from ALCO/Montreal Locomotive Works?

This is done as H. H.'s “new” C.P. releases information about greater efficiency allowing the surplusing of 100’s of locomotives. In one door, out the other…

This number of 188 units is a new one. Only number I am familiar with is 30 units a year for 5 years for a total of 150 units. I am willing to bet this will change long before it gets anywhere near either quantity.

Gotta agree w/MJS. But I must say that they are a good-looking, North American-styled machine. Nice. I hope they perform as well as they look.

About twenty years too late, as previous CP managements were too busy wasting time with internal disputes. Then they kick out Fred Green with a $17 million “golden parachute”, plead poverty, announce they’re laying off a third of their workforce (nearly 5,000 people), and go on a locomotive buying spree. Makes sense.

HOw about the fact that these are being EXPORTED from the US. That should help. Where did these units originate? Remanufactured from what. WHo owned them. Are the SD30C’s also remanufactured or new? Nice business for the American worker.

These were fun to build and I hope CP likes them. Go PRMC!
