It only helps the lazy. There must be an honest charity that could benefit and forget the “Where’s My Free Stuff?” sub-culture. I would never donate to it.

Mr. Hays, Where are the facts to back-up your statement ? The CP Railway has performed this wonderful program for something like 17 years now. They certainly believe it to be a worthwhile service to the communities along their main lines.
My wife and I took two of our granddaughters in late November to see the" Holiday Train" and enjoy the entertainment and atmosphere of giving to others. It was a very enjoyable experience and we’ve participated a few times over the years. They had a huge bon-fire this year, which was wonderful, with the cold and snow !
Respectfully, I have to comment that although the great state of Montana is known as" big sky country" it may also be subject to ignorance and SMALL hearts. Unfortunately this state is not alone !

Mr Hays.

Please try a little sugar in your tea (party)!

Mr. Hays: Not everyone in this country who is in need is “lazy”; many folks - whether in rural areas or an inner city situation - struggle to make ends meet while they work part-time at minimum-wage jobs. I am blessed to have a good-paying job, and believe wholeheartedly in the New Testament maxim “while there is opportunity, let us do good to all men”. With the continued operation of the CP Holiday Train over the southern portion of the old D&H line in question with the planned NS purchase of said line, the day after Thanksgiving I drive to upstate NY and chased the train from Oneonta to Schenectady, making a modest contribution at each town where the train stopped. It was gorgeous snow-covered scenery, as a rail enthusiast I had a blast following and photographing the train, and I had the personal satisfaction of trusting that my small contributions would be of some help to other human beings.

Even though we spend most of the winter in Florida, we spend most of the year in the beautiful Mohawk Valley in Central New York. Always enjoy the holidays with family and friends there, and always well worth the 45-50 minute drive to see the CP" Holiday Train". This last outing we saw it in Delanson, NY. We can only hope and pray that NS Railway continues this very worthwhile and enjoyable traditional community service project in the future.

Hays, you have been thankfully absent from this forum for a number of months. That absence was perhaps not coincidental with a marked lack of political sniping herein.

Although your recent reappearance seemed to suggest, at first, a newly respectful demeanor, apparently things are not always as they seem. Once again - cut the Tea Party crap or go back into hiding, Hays.

Hey Kuehn, who’s doing the “political sniping” here ? Why do you suggest politics is relevant to begin with ?
I’m leaning towards believing that your absence might be a welcome event, but because of a right that we all have: “freedom of speech” you are entitled to your opinion just as Mr. Hays and myself are.

I happen to have numerous friends that support the “Tea Party” movement and for the most part, they are caring, compassionate people who are very much involved in helping change the direction that their communities and our country are headed in, and what’s wrong with that Mr. Kuehn ? Being respectful towards each other’s opinions will accomplish more for everyone, than blasting each other with insults. Have a good-one Mr. Kuehn !

Mr. Klippel,

Just reread Hays’ post and mine. He threw out a gratuitous political jab that was only whimsically related to the topic, and served only to once again remind us all of his political leanings. He has a long history of exactly that kind of sniping on this forum.

I made no allusion to any political leaning on my part. Hays did, and I called him on it. The “crap” reference is to the presence of the sniping; not its ideology.

The vehemence of your response to me speaks volumes politically.
