DON7: Didn’t know about the Bassano roundhouse thing, we surveyed this area for pipelines , wish I had known it was a railway spot of interest, also. All those changes of divisional points in the mountains is interesting, did lots of climbing in those Rockies and it’s quite a view of the railway from up to and the sounds are great too, it gives you a new perspective of railroading from up above.
Hi,
found the magazine that I was writing about. It is “Canadian Railway Modeller” and issue “Train13 Track6”. The scenery looks quite beautiful and the article says that it is 24 by 42 feet.
davidmbedard-too bad that the layout is in limbo. Sure looks like someone put a lot of effort into the layout. It sure is tempting living in Ontario to model the Spiral Tunnels, no doubt that it is even more tempting when one lives in Alberta and has better access to the action.

Yes it is!
Now if you excuse me, I think I’ll drop by them for the heck of it.[;)]
Hope the link works, here is a Selkirk in front of the Roundhouse in Field.
Note there are great pics of both the CPR and CNR at the BC Archives

Link may not work at times, access the visual record section, Bordertown collection and access page 116
I think there was a railroad with 25 stalls.
