CPR SD40-2 headlights

Is there a nose headlight detail part for CPR’s SD40-2s?

Somebody??? Anybody???

Unless you’re looking for something specifically peculiar to CPRail, Detail Associates probably has something suitable. Another option may be Miniatures By Eric, which offers stuff specific to both CP and other Canadian roads.

Call creditvalley railway or georgestrains in toronto they should have the parts you need.rambo1…

Thanks for the company suggestions. Does anybody know how to mount then on the nose?

For most, you’ll need to file a flat area on the nose, then use solvent-type cement to hold a styrene casting in place, or ca for a metal one. If you plan on adding working lights, most need to be drilled-out accordingly, and that’s usually done before mounting.

I prefer non-working lights and use MV Products lenses - they make ones to fit almost any model or after-market light casting. Here’s some in a Detail Associates headlight casting, on a modified Athearn switcher.

The problem I have with that is that the SD40-2’s noses are pointed and not flat like geeps.

Thanks for the ideas. Sorry I didn’t notice the filing suggestion earlier.
